MineScape is a New Zealand video game developer company founded in 2019 and based in Auckland, starting with a solo developer. MineScape has volunteer staff in countries worldwide, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Latvia.

MineScape has registered/pending trademarks in New Zealand, European Union[1] and United States[2].

Origin

MineScape was founded in April 2019 in Auckland, New Zealand.

MineScape develops a self-titled server game mode MineScape for Minecraft, released for open beta on 8 June 2019, and is still actively being developed with over 100,000[3] players participating in the open beta. The open beta is set to last until all skills have been developed, at which point development will move focus onto content release cycles, such as major questlines and areas.

It has spread in popularity mostly due to a self-published trailer video, which has achieved over 120,000 views on Youtube[4]. MineScape funds their development and servers through in-game membership with cosmetics, such as titles, pets and wearables, along with their merch store.

    MineScape

MineScape is a Minecraft MMORPG in open-beta on the MineScape server.

The MineScape server is developed and designed on the idea of playing a version of Old School Runescape in Minecraft as a free to play game. Two years of tremendous effort have culminated in a very faithful reproduction of all the locations, mobs, and skills.[5] The server has committed to rebuilding the entire Geilinor map whilst not including any pay to win aspects[6] like other Minecraft servers.

    Some included features are:

    • Open world exploration.
    • Monsters & Bosses.
    • Questlines from Old School Runescape.
    • Functioning Bank & Grand Exchange.[7]
    • Five independent worlds available to explore.[8]

Updates to the MineScape game mode are bi-weekly with a focus on expanding the map area and releasing new skills.

    Sprinters

Sprinters is a Minecraft Minigame still actively in development, with no set release date but is playable on the MineScape server.

Sprinters is a Mario Kart-like minigame mode; players are put in an arena against each other and race around at speed to reach the finish line. Obstacles include jump boosts, speed boosts, slowdown traps and confusion traps.

    SkyScape

SkyScape is a Minecraft skyblock/Role-playing game game mode announced on 6 December 2019[9].

The game mode was indefinitely delayed due to a sudden increase in popularity of MineScape.
