Mir Yar Baloch is a Baloch writer, separatist, freelance journalist, and human rights activist from the province of Balochistan in Pakistan. He declared the independence of Balochistan from Pakistan on May 9, 2025, forming the Republic of Balochistan and becoming its first president.[1][2][3][4][5]
Balochistan independence
On 9 May 2025, he announced and wrote a letter to the United Nations asking for the recognition of Balochistan as a sovereign country.[6] Balochistan's Independence Day was officially proclaimed as 9 May, with Mir Yar Baloch assuming the role of Provisional President and Aichen Baloch as Provisional Prime Minister.
