Mirabilis Ventures Inc is an American investment firm.[1] Run by Frank Amodeo from 2005[2] until his arrest in 2007.[3] It went bankrupt in 2010.[4][5][6]
History[edit]
Frank Amodeo purchased the company in 2005.[2]
As of 2005 it owned over 60 companies with a revenue of over 1 billion a year.[7]
In 2006 it purchased the unfinished Trump Tower Tampa.[8][9][10] It had employees detained in Africa in Summer of 2006 over their involvement with the 2006 Democratic Republic of the Congo general election.[11]
It was one of a large network of companies run by Frank Amodeo and used to avoid payroll taxes.[12] It and its ceo were found to have evaded $200 million in taxes with the company.[13]
The firm went bankrupt in 2010 after Frank Amodeo was imprisoned.[4][5][6]
In 2019 it was judged that the CEO could not attempt to regain control.[14]
Frank Amodeo[edit]
Frank Amodeo is an American businessman sentenced in 2009 to 22 years in prison.[15] He argued that because he has bipolar disorder, his charges should be voided.[16] The Orlando Sentinel described him as wanting to achieve world domination.[17] He wanted to found the "Terran Empire".[18]
He was disbarred as a bankruptcy lawyer in 1994 for mishandling a client's funds.[19] He now works as a prison reform advocate, specifically focusing on helping free people who were unjustly imprisoned, he considers himself to have been such a victim.[20]
