Misha Suvorov (born April 28, 1982 in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR) is a Russian-born American actor from the city of theaters, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Sanford Meisner Center 2016 graduate[1] and RimoVision Group member since 2023. Misha works on stage, TV and in film.
Early life
Misha Suvorov was born on April 28, 1982 to Tatiana and Sergei Suvorov. He is of Russian, Ukrainian, Polish and Ashkenazi Jewish descent. His parents are both scientific atheists. He has a sister, Katerina Suvorova (born 1980) and three cousins.
Career
Entering the acting world in the early 2010s in St. Petersburg, Misha undertook Konstantin Stanislavski’s method study at the Part Academy of St. Petersburg and additional study in Mikhail Chekhov’s technique to establish himself on the theatrical stage and on local TV. 2013 turned out to be a turning point in Misha’s life – that’s when he decided to pursue his dream. Having arrived in Hollywood the night before Christmas of 2013, Misha fell in love with Los Angeles and has stayed in town ever since. To adapt and enhance his performance skills, Misha entered Ranjiv Perrera’s class under Martin Barter’s supervision at Sanford Meisner Center of Los Angeles to learn an American way of acting. 2016 was the year he successfully graduated from Sanford Meisner Center to continue his journey of self-realization and communicating his message across the fourth wall to the audience.
2024 became a turning point for Misha. Being a political activist for a long time, he decided to finally start using his artistic voice for what is truly important. The atrocity of the Russian-Ukrainian war and Putin’s regime pushed him to explore this difficult and equally important theme.[2] As a result, *The Border*, an anti-war solo-show written by Sergei Davydov, translated by Tatiana Axlerod and directed by Ray Hanna, was produced for the Hollywood Fringe Festival.[3]
The show received positive reviews and won The Best of Actor’s Company Hollywood Fringe Festival 2024 award.[4] As a result, the city of West Hollywood decided to present the show, and an extended run takes place in Fiesta Hall West Hollywood[5]. *The Border* show was also turned into a cinematic experience and is available on demand online.
Following the success of *The Border*, Misha partnered with producer Vita Solzberg to found a non-profit art company, DeepARTment, with the mission of helping underrepresented artists thrive.
To support the anti-war movement, Art Against War Festival WeHo was conceived in collaboration with the city of West Hollywood, which received a warm reception from the local community.[6] In continuation of the movement, Film Against War Festival is planned to take place in The Chambers, West Hollywood on March 22nd of 2025.
Besides acting, Misha Suvorov volunteers for Russian Americans for Democracy in Russia and Navalny LA Group, trades stocks and meditates in the Dhamma tradition as taught by Goenka.
