Mishu Shrestha (Nepali: मिशु श्रेष्ठ) (born 1972) is a Nepalese businesswoman, industrialist and fashion designer based in Kathmandu, Nepal.[1] She is the current Director of the board Radisson Hotel Kathmandu and Soorya Group.[2]
She is actively involved in her own fashion brand “MISHUS” a Nepalese designer brand of women’s clothing in Nepal.[3][4] On the social service front, she is actively involved in helping physically challenged Children of Disabled Service Association Bungamati, Lalitpur, Nepal.[5]
Early life and education
Mishu Shrestha was born and raised on February 11, 1972 in Kathmandu, Nepal. After finishing her high school education in Kathmandu, she completed her Fashion Design Course from the Milan Fashion Campus, a private fashion school in Milan, Italy.[6]
Business and Fashion Designing
Shrestha has over two decades of work experience in the manufacturing and hospitality industry. She is currently involved in her own manufacturing Businesses of high-end cashmere products and hand knotted carpets in Soorya Group.
Passionate about fashion, she always envisioned becoming one of the successful fashion designers of Nepal. After completing her fashion designing course from Italy in May 2012, she established her own fashion brand “MISHUS” which was launched officially on November 22, 2012.[7] The brand specializes in Women’s ready-to-wear clothing, Cashmere line clothing and evening wear.[8] Since then she has pursued her career in fashion designing to improve the fashion industry of Nepal.
It was her designed elegant and sophisticated Gowns that Miss Nepal World 2013 Ishani Shrestha, Miss Nepal Earth 2014 Prinsha Shrestha, Miss Nepal World 2015 Evana Manandhar[9] had worn to represent Nepal.[10]
She also designed ready-to-wear, cashmere and evening gowns for Barsha Lekhi, Miss Nepal International 2016 and Roshni Khatri Miss Nepal Earth 2016. Roshni Khatri earned a silver medal at Miss Earth 2016 in the resort wear competition. The resort wear was designed by Mishu Shrestha[11]
