Subexya Bhadel (Nepali: शुभेच्छा भडेल; born 1986) is a Nepalese fashion designer[1] currently based in New York, USA. Her botique is called Crossroad Apparel.[2] Her concept visualization and illustration skills in fashion designing as well as a steady participation in international events are the reasons she is being noticed over the recent years.

Early life and education[edit]

Subexya Bhadel was born in Salyan district of Nepal where she also went to primary school. Later she was raised in Dang and Banke districts where she finished her secondary schooling. Later, she completed her high school in Kathmandu district from Kathmandu Don Bosco College.[3] She got admitted in Lord Buddha Education Foundation, Kathmandu affiliated to Sikkim Manipal University[4] where she completed her Bachelors studying BSc in Fashion Design. She further studied business administration doing her Masters (MBA) from the same university.

Career[edit]

Bhadel has over 7 years of work experience in fashion industry. After her bachelor's degree, she had her own fashion studio and boutique established by the name of Crossroad Apparel in Kathmandu with a goal to transform people's lifestyle. Since then, she has also been designing apparels for most of the fashion icons of Nepal, celebrities and many beauty pageants such as Miss Nepal.

Passionate about fashion, she always aspired to become one of the successful fashion designer of Nepal. Her most notable achievement was during Miss Earth 2012] that took place on 24 November 2012 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines where Nagma Shrestha wore a gown designed by her and won a special award titled Miss Hannah's Formal Wear.[5]

She also spoke at Startup Grind Kathmandu [6] powered by Google for Entrepreneurs in 2015.

Bhadel showcased her fall collection[7] at the Festival of Globe (FOG) 2016[8] that was held in San Jose California, with a mission to empower and integrate global cultures and communities through Film Arts, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Folk Arts.
