MISS TOCUYO AWARDS[edit]
MISS TOCUYO AWARDS is an annual online and fan-based awards dedicated to pageant contestants who were excluded from the semi-finalist roster that were highly expected to be in at most the final cut of the pageant. Mainly, it focuses on the candidates of the Miss Universe competition who were so hyped by the pageant fans to place higher in the actual competition, putting her in their hot picks, but was eventually excluded instantly from the first cut due to undisclosed reason/s.
The current titleholder, Miss Tocuyo 2021, is Miss Universe Spain 2021 Sarah Loinaz, the successor of Miss Tocuyo 2020 Natasha Joubert, Miss Universe South Africa 2020 and 2nd Runner-up, Miss South Africa 2020.

This was all started when the Venezuelan delegate for Miss Universe 2016 in the Philippines, Miss Venezuela 2015 Mariam Habach, was excluded in the Top 13 semi-finalist, breaking the 5-year streak (2011 - 2015) of her country. She was highly anticipated to enter at least the semi-finals that year, but wasn't able to do so due to undisclosed reason/s. She was from the city of El Tocuyo in the Venezuelan state of Lara. She famously introduced herself as "Mariam Habach, El Tocuyo, Venezuela!", and with that, the famous Miss Tocuyo awards was born.
