Mitch Craft (born September 22, 1985) is a former professional American football linebacker and actor. He played college football at Southern Miss.
Professional career[edit]
Arizona Rattlers[edit]
Signed with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League on December 3, 2008. The league voted to fold operations for the upcoming 2009 season on December 15, 2008. [1]
Lafayette Wildcatters[edit]
Signed a one-year contract with the Lafayette Wildcatters of the Southern Indoor Football League on February 11, 2009. Craft was the SIFL Linebacker of the Year and was also a first-team all league selection. In the 2009 season, he tallied 48 combined tackles, 3 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery and a blocked kick that he also returned for a touchdown. In December 14, 2009, Craft signed another one-year contract with the Wildcatters to come back and play for the 2010 season.[2] That contract made Craft the highest paid defensive player in the SIFL at the time. During the 2010 season, Craft recorded 62 combined tackles, 8.5 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles and had 3 interceptions. He won the Linebacker of the Year award for the second year in a row and helped lead the Wildcatters to another winning season that ended in the playoffs with a loss to the future season champions, Columbus Lions. Craft signed to come back for a third season but just one week before the 2011 season opener, the Wildcatter organization folded operations due to worker’s compensation insurance issues. He ended his two-year tenure with the Wildcatters as the team’s all-time career leader in tackles (110) and sacks (11.5). Craft was also the only player in Wildcatters franchise history to be named twice to All-SIFL accolades.
