From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

MixSCAN is a software developed by Dubset.com that enables artists to collect royalties on their music featured in DJ mixes, podcasts and mixtapes. It works by recognizing proprietary information that accurately tracks and reports songs within DJ mixes for royalty distribution.

Dubset[edit]

Dubset.com is a cloud based internet radio station[1] founded by David Stein and curated by the world's top DJ'[2] s. The New York City based site features new music, recorded live at premier clubs and exclusive events. Users can search by artist, performances and venue or create channels for listening now and queues for listening later. Every type of DJ related music is offered on Dubset, from drum & bass, hip hop and open format to down-tempo, disco house and minimal techno. By using its patented MixSCAN technology, Dubset is able to accurately monitor all music within its posted mixes, therefore providing copyright holders and artists with the proper compensation for their material.

Technology[edit]

MixSCAN' is a unique software that enables artists to collect royalties on their music found within DJ mixes, podcasts and mixtapes. It works by recognizing proprietary information that accurately tracks and reports songs within DJ mixes for royalty distribution. It is a RESTful job-based API that allows users to fingerprint individual files that may contain more than one song or artist over time. Each time a user makes a request to MixSCAN they will be returned with a small amount of metadata for the mix before the scan has actually taken place.[3]
