Miziker Entertainment is a privately held corporation with headquarters in Burbank, California, United States. They specialize in the full development of live entertainment, shows, parades, spectacles, and location-based media.

History[edit]

Ron Miziker, the former of Entertainment and Show Development at Walt Disney Imagineering, was producing a television show at WLWT called the 50-50 Club. Disney regularly had characters on the show when they were rereleasing films. He talked to the Vice President of Marketing at the time, and asked for a job at Disney over lunch. After a back and forth of calls, he was offered a job assisting with Disney on Parade (see Disney Theatrical Group). Before the New York performance, the scenic pieces were prepared for cast rehearsal. A group destroyed the entire show. The producer, Card Walker, who was tasked with overseeing the development of shows and entertainment of the yet to open Walt Disney World, asked Ron if he would take that role. He accepted.

Upon returning to Los Angeles after the opening of the Florida resort, Miziker began working on projects for all three resorts. Walker, now president of the company, asked for something to drive traffic to Disneyland, due to the popularity of Disney World. Walker was looking for a nighttime attraction, to keep people in the park. Upon further research, they found people would do parades with lights at the turn of the twentieth century, due to the recent developments in electricity. Having previously worked on the Electrical Water Pageant, they combined that concept with the standard Disney characters. The executives were fascinated with the concept and approved it. This became the popular and long-running Main Street Electrical Parade.[2]

Wanting to get back into television, Ron produced several prime time television shows, and was later told to produce shows for the future Disney Channel in the early 1980s. He eventually negotiated a contract where he could produce content under his own company. They started working on big bands at Disneyland. Soon afterwards, Ron was asked to travel to Oman to meet with the Sultan to produce a 15th-anniversary celebration.[3]

As television has evolved, Miziker Entertainment has moved toward doing most of its work in live entertainment.

Ron retired from Miziker Entertainment in 2015, making Ryan Miziker CEO.

Notable projects[edit]

Journey of Lights[edit]

In 2016, Miziker completed work on an eight-unit, half-mile long parade at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai, China. The Journey of Lights parade was awarded a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2018 from the Themed Entertainment Association.[6] The parade features over a million LED lights, juggling clowns, candy dancers, light-up jellyfish, and other creatures and costumed performers.[7] It also included many technical advancements.
