The blog was founded in 2008 by Ian Hardy, covering Canadian mobile services. It has since expanded to cover IoT, smartphones, tablets, wearables, and automotive technologies.[2]
BetaKit[edit]
In 2013, the Mobile Syrup acquired BetaKit for an undisclosed sum from Postmedia Network.[3] BetaKit is a business news blog covering emerging technologies, and innovation.[4] The acquisition led to the shuttering of BetaKit Insights, a paid subscriber service that provided technology insights for executive descision makers.[5]
