MobileWash offers mobile auto detailing services through a smartphone app.[2] The app provides a platform for on-demand and scheduled car washing and auto detailing services directly to a user’s location.[3]

MobileWash is the largest network of professional auto detailers in America.[7] The app provides customers a price quote before they commit to ordering a wash using a dynamic pricing model. Their prices alternate depending on various factors such as vehicle make and model, surface area, and time of day.[8] After the service is complete, payment is obtained through the customer’s pre-selected preferences. The customer is also given the option to provide gratuity to the washer. All payments, are completed through the MobileWash app.[9] MobileWash conducts background checks as part of their vetting process to ensure partners are professional, insured, auto detailers.[10]

In 2018, Susan Carpenter, of KPCC described the auto detailing industry, according to IBIS as an $11 billion-dollar business. She quoted on MobileWash’s daily operations saying, “It does about 250 car washes each day and has about 50,000 customers, paying anywhere from $20 to $80 per wash.”
Eric Wulf, a spokesman for the International Car Wash Association in Chicago said, “At the end of the day whether you visit a car wash retail facility of the street or have a mobile car wash, the basic proposition is the same: providing a clean car in a way that’s convenient.”
On AppModo, John Morris’ review claims, “This app is definitely the answered prayer for those who are facing difficulties when it comes to having their cars get washed and other detailing needs.”[11]
Edward Niedermeyer, of The Drive speaks about the future of car cleaning mentioning, “Several service providers even have introduced the delivery vehicle cleaning services, saving a vehicle owner from an effort of driving the vehicle to a vehicle cleaning station.” And, “apps like MobileWash offer these on-demand car washes.”
