ModeAudio Ltd is a loop, sample, MIDI file and synth preset developer founded in 2013, incorporated in 2020.[2]

The company creates and releases sample packs covering a range of genres including Ambient, Hip Hop, LoFi and Synthwave, as well as preset packs for software synthesiser plugins such as Serum, Sylenth1[3] and Vital.

ModeAudio has also collaborated with the wider music software industry on various sound design projects, including creating samples and presets for Ableton[4], Applied Acoustic Systems[5], Image-Line, Native Instruments[6] and u-he.

The company also maintains a blog on its website, where it publishes music production tutorials and gives away free audio content[7].

History[edit]

The company was co-founded by Niall McCallum[8] in London, launching its website with a small range of drum sample and ambient loop packs. ModeAudio’s catalogue has since grown to include over 300 packs, many of which have been reviewed positively by prominent industry publications, such as Computer Music Magazine[9], and websites, such as Rekkerd[10], Ask.Audio[11] and Bedroom Producers Blog[12]

In 2014, the company’s Power Tools - Drum Samples & Patches pack became the first of several to win MusicTech Magazine’s Choice Award[13][14][15], with its Beat Scenics - Loops & Samples pack also winning the same publication’s Value Award[16] in the same year.

In 2023, ModAudio teamed up with Soundation to integrate the latter’s Beatmaker browser application into their website[17], allowing visitors to programme rhythms using ModeAudio samples from within their web browsers.
