The Model House of Commons (MHoC) is a subreddit that simulates the UK Parliament online. It started in 2014 and now has more than 4,300 members who are Members of Parliament, Lords, journalists, and other political positions.
Overview
MHoC simulates how the real House of Commons works. It has political parties with leaders and shadow cabinets. They discuss bills and changes like they do in Westminster, following different steps from presentation to final approval. They hold elections using online polls among members. The votes help decide the new parliaments based on how people in different areas voted.
Most people in MHoC are between 16 and 25 years old, live in the UK, and they work together on making laws. Besides simulating the House of Commons, MHoC also has the House of Lords, Scottish Parliament, Senedd, and Northern Ireland Assembly.
