Mody Maor (מודי מאור; born June 27, 1985) is an Israeli-American basketball coach. He is Chief Assistant Coach for the New Zealand Breakers in Auckland, New Zealand, in the Australian National Basketball League. Maor was previously Assistant Coach of the Israel men's national under-20 basketball team, Head Coach and Assistant Coach for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, and Assistant Coach for Hapoel Holon in the league.
Biography[edit]
Maor was born in California in the United States, moved to Israel with his family when he was young, and is Israeli-American.[1][2][3] He was in the Israel Defense Forces as an officer in the Special Forces for five years.[3]
In 2016 Maor was Assistant Coach of the Israel men's national under-20 basketball team.[4]
Maor was a Head Coach (2018; at 32 years of age) and Assistant Coach (2017 and 2018) for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.[5][6][7][8][9] He was also an Assistant Coach for Hapoel Holon (2019 and 2020) in the league.[7]
He is Chief Assistant Coach for the New Zealand Breakers in Auckland, New Zealand, in the Australian National Basketball League, under Head Coach Dan Shamir.[10][11][12][13]
