Mohamed Mubarak V.M.S., known professionally as Nellai Mubarak, is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu. He currently serves as the State President of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). Mubarak has been a consistent figure in the state's electoral politics since 2014, representing the SDPI in both state assembly and national parliamentary elections.[1] [2] [3]

Political Career

Mubarak's political activity is centred on minority representation and social activism within the SDPI framework. He rose to the position of State President in late 2018, succeeding Dahlan Baqavi. He was re-elected for subsequent terms, including a fresh mandate in 2024.[4]

His tenure has been marked by the party's integration into various political fronts in Tamil Nadu, including alliances with the AMMK and, more recently, cooperation within broader secular coalitions.
