Mohan Kamakshi is an Indian film editor, director, producer and screenwriter who works in Kannada film industry.[1][2] [3]He is known for his film Aadi Purana in 2017.[4][5]
Early life[edit]
Mohan Kamakshi born on 18 June 1980 at Bangalore. He studied Bachelor of Arts at Vijaya Evening College, Bangalore and got degree from Bangalore University and Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree from IGNOU. Since he was a Library Science and an arts graduate, he developed passion towards reading Kannada literature. From his childhood days he was attracted towards cinema and wanted to become a film director. He got inspired by well known film director and writer Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar who was a lecturer at his pre university college. He worked at a publishing company for 8 years before entering to Film Industry.
Career[edit]
He started his career in the media and film industry as an editor and worked for many Corporate films, Short films, Documentaries and music albums. His first feature film as editor was Sudeep and Ramya starrer Mussanje Maatu (2008) where he worked as co editor. He became independent editor through Iniya (2009) movie. Later worked with director Guruprasad for his Director's Special movie as editor and associate director. He was also associated with Padmasri Girish Kasaravalli and worked for his two documentaries on U.R. Ananthamurthy and Adoor Gopalakrishnan made for Films Division, Government of India. He was online and offline editor for movies Nirutthara and Harikatha Prasanga[6] directed by Apurva Kasaravalli and Ananya Kasaravalli respectively where he learned on set experience and shooting skills. Apart from this, he also worked for dialogues for the movies Hudugaru and Yare Koogadali. He made his directorial debut with Aadi Purana and also co producer for this film.[7][8]

Mohan Kamakshi married to Dhanalakshmi and have a daughter and a son.
