Mojo's Bar, also known as 'Mojos', is a live music venue in Fremantle, Western Australia.

It has been described as 'a linchpin of Perth's live music scene'.[1]

It's known as a venue where some notable musicians have performed before their careers launched.[2]

History[edit]

The first performances at the bar took place in the 1970s.[3] It was formerly known as 'The Stoned Crow'.[4]

Selection of musical acts[edit]

Some past performers at Mojos include: Tame Impala,[2]The Triffids,[4] John Butler,[2] the Hard-Ons,[5] Chris Cheney,[6] Body Type,[7] The Murlocs,[8] Amyl and the Sniffers.[9]

Controversies[edit]

In 2021 the bar temporarily closed following the resignation of its then-owner Andrew Ryan, following several allegations that his behaviour had "caused others to become uncomfortable".[1] The following year, a staff member at the bar was fired following allegations that she had shoved a member of the band 'Body Horrors'.[10] After this incident, various WA bands including 'Lauren & The Goodfights', and 'Noah Dillon' cancelled their shows at the venue.[11] The venue later apologised.[12]
