Mokwalo is a made-for-television drama film co-directed by Masego Mohwasa and Game "Zeus" Bantsi. It is one of three films in a first-of-its-kind commission by South African digital satellite channel Mzansi Magic to produce and broadcast films from Botswana in 2024.[1][2] It is said to be a project the writer and co-director Mohwasa had nurtured for about five years before it was realised.[3]
The film follows the journey of a young woman who discovers a secret diary that enables her to change the story of her life by writing it to her liking.[4] It stars Latoya Moji, Loretta Mekgwe, and Tefo Paya in lead roles; Lilly Molapisi and Bernard Morapedi star in supporting roles. Acclaimed South African Actress Clementine Mosimane also makes a brief appearance in the film.[5]
