Mona Al-Shammari (Arabic: منى الشمري) (March 10-) is a novelist, storyteller and screenwriter of Kuwaiti drama and cinema.[1][2]

Her life and career[edit]

She studied at Kuwait University, worked for several Kuwaiti newspapers and held the position of deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Mustaqbal newspaper. She participated in several literary and cultural conferences and forums in the Gulf, the most important of which was the novel forums in Katara in Doha and the activities of the Abdulaziz Cultural Center in Dhahran - Enrich - in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She released her first novel, "Rain falls, the princess will die" in 2012, 13 stories, the collection was published by the Arab Science House in Beirut. In 2017, her novel was transformed into a television series entitled black Kohl,White Heart, and it won numerous awards. In 2018, she released her story collection “Two Heads Under One Umbrella” published by Novaplus House (14)) a short story that all revolves around the sphere of women and their issues. Therefore, it can be said that it is the "Women Stories Group". The writer dealt with women with their aspirations, dreams, sufferings, and some details of their direct daily life.[3] In 2019, she wrote two series and performances in Ramadan, which are faraway wishes and no music in Ahmadi.[4]

Kuwait: The Short Story Prize for the short story collection "Two Heads Under One Umbrella" from the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature in Kuwait 2017[6].
