His life
Munir was born in a small village of Fatuma to a Syriac family who migrated from Turkish lands to Syria at the turn of the century. He stayed in his city despite the emigration of many members of his family to Europe due to the terrible conditions of the Syrian war, and at a young age, he became one of the cultural elites in the city of Qamishli, where he stayed. He made a lot of contributions to literature and published a lot of novels and short stories.
His death
He passed away on Sunday evening, September 27th, 2020, in his origin of Qamishli, at the age of 65.
His writings
Munir Issa Chamoun has four novels and anecdotal versions; he was preparing for the fifth novel entitled “the season of wheat” before he died before it was printed.
The anecdotal collection “Idiots”, the first edition of the late writers in 2015, and the “liars” anecdotal collection also in 2016, both of which belong to satirical literature.
