Monishwaran Maheswaran, a child prodigy, is an inventor and mathematics researcher from India.[1]
Monishwaran, being fascinated by machines, opened home appliances like television, computers, speakers when he was young to look inside and understand how they work. In addition, he uses probability in everyday life, from making decisions to guessing wins in games. For him, nature is like a puzzle, and he likes to interact and decipher nature through the use of Math. Monishwaran's answers to several natural phenomena have been compiled in a research paper during his stay at Harvard University. His methodology and problem analysis are rooted in experimenting, questioning, and imagining. Monishwaran aims to educate 1 billion people with programming language. He believes programming needs to be considered as a primary language and should be taught to everyone. Moreover, he is an international keynote speaker at several technological conferences and has been invited by several universities to give Master Classes and Guest Lectures in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing.[2]
Unlike most teenagers, inspired by the complexities of everyday problems, Monishwaran has focused his energy on social innovations and technology for humankind. He has worked on a system using machine learning to help visually impaired people navigate their surroundings. In addition, he has started two initiatives—Do it for Knowledge, which is involved in improving the welfare of children by providing them with educational supplies from schools and students’ past yearbooks; Run for Cancers, a fundraiser for children suffering from cancer.[3]
For his innovations and ideas, Monishwaran was awarded The Glocal Teen Hero India 2019 from a pool of teenagers all over India.[4]
