Monitizer, part of Norican Group, is an IIoT[1] technology company that capture real-time production data and turns it into valuable insights that improve processes. In partnership with other Norican Group companies, Monitizer delivers data solutions for foundries and other complex industrial processes.
History[edit]
Monitizer[2] was established as the digital division of Norican Group in 2018 as “Norican Digital”, and then rebranded in 2022 to “Monitizer Digital”. Initially named Norican Digital Lab, its first product was Monitizer | DISCOVER[3] which uses IIoT and cloud technology to collect, store, present and visualize production process data.
This was quickly followed by Monitizer | PRESCRIBE[4], developed in partnership with award-winning AI[5] experts DataProphet[6].

The Monitizer platform is a suite of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions that combine IIoT-based data acquisition with cloud databases and applications.
It is able to collect data from any vendor’s equipment and can be deployed rapidly and with low project risk. The suite was designed to empower users to build their own tools and dashboards, enabling fast learning and measurable progress.
Monitizer | DISCOVER[edit]
Monitizer | DISCOVER[7] uses IIoT and cloud technology to collect, present and store live production data. Dashboards, reports and configurable alerts support efficient machine and process monitoring, preventing downtime and poor product quality.
DISCOVER’s cloud-based data and applications make multiple site monitoring and user access simple. DISCOVER keeps production data safe and supplies the tools required to oversee, visualize and analyze it from anywhere in the world.
Monitizer | PRESCRIBE[edit]
Powered by Norican’s strategic AI partner DataProphet, Monitizer | PRESCRIBE[8] uses sophisticated AI-driven predictive analytics[9] to optimize an entire production line.
First, it learns the complex interdependencies between manufacturing parameters and their impact on product quality, throughput, and other critical metrics. Then, during production, PRESCRIBE works in real time to recommends changes to process parameters that prevent defects occurring.
PRESCRIBE has been repeatedly proven to significantly reduce scrap – by 40% or more on average – and emissions while improving profitability. Delivered as a packaged cloud service, it removes the need to employ in-house data scientists or buy expensive servers.
Refill Monitor[edit]
Monitizer | REFILL MONITOR[10] is a furnace monitoring system that continuously checks dosing furnace fill levels against the metal consumption of the die casting process. It shows real-time fill levels, indicates when it's time to refill each furnace, which alloy to use, and the required weight of metal.
REFILL MONITOR helps to keep furnaces running at peak efficiency and, by minimizing the number of filling runs required, it increases the productivity of metal supply by up to 15%.
NoriGate[edit]
All Monitizer solutions rely on NoriGate IIoT edge devices[11] (gateways) to acquire data from almost any source. NoriGate hardware collects, timestamps and stores machine and process data locally before streaming it to the Monitizer database in the cloud.
Simple to install and straightforward to configure, NoriGates are the foundation for Monitizer’s unified, reliable view of production data.

Monitizer develops products and coordinates client projects from the Munich office, but can also leverage the Norican network with over 48 global locations.

Media Coverage[edit]
Monitizer has helped many customers improve their process. Japan’s Morikawa foundry started to implement the full Monitizer suite in early 2021 and, by 2022, was reporting scrap reductions of 66.6% and 86.9% for two test castings.
Huaxiang, China’s fifth largest private foundry, reported average scrap reductions of 57.2% across four different patterns using Monitizer | PRESCRIBE.
