History[edit]
With a history dating back to 1900, the Norican Group was founded on a vision to revolutionize the way metals are cast. Private equity firm MidEuropa [1] purchased Wheelabrator Group in 2006 and DISA Group shortly afterwards. In September 2008, MidEuropa merged Wheelabrator Group and DISA to form Norican Group. In December 2014, MidEuropa sold Norican Group to Altor Equity Partners. [2] [3] and in May 2017, Norican Group purchased Light Metal Casting Solutions Group, owner of ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen.
Denmark-based Norican Group is the parent company of five industrial equipment manufacturers, covering metalcasting, melting and surface preparation: DISA, Wheelabrator, ItalPresseGauss, Simpson and StrikoWestofen. Norican has over 15,000 active customers in about 100 countries worldwide, and an estimated 50,000 machines on field (the largest installed base in the industry).

Products[edit]
Norican Group is a holding company only. Norican Group’s five subsidiaries manufacture equipment and provide services for the creation and improvement of metallic parts. That includes parts formation (horizontal, matchplate & vertical moulding), surface preparation technologies (airblast, wheelblast and mass finishing), light metal die casting (gravity, low and high pressure) and light metal furnaces.

Monitizer[edit]
Founded in 2017 and based in Munich, Germany, Monitizer [4] functions as a central Norican Group digital R&D centre. It created and continues to develop the Monitizer Suites[5] used by all five Norican Group subsidiaries.
Global Centres[edit]
Norican Group’s North American centre has been based in LaGrange, Georgia, USA since 1988. In 2022, all manufacturing and operations moved to the new LaGrange Technology hub. [6] Via its subsidiaries, Norican Group has a longstanding manufacturing presence in India and China.[7]

Norican Group opened a new factory in Hanjiang in 2020.[8]
Target Customers[edit]
Norican Group's target customers are foundries and metal casting companies of all sizes and scales seeking innovative technology solutions to enhance their production processes. These customers include a wide range of industries, such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, consumer goods, and more, that rely on metal components in their products.
Additionally, Norican Group caters to aluminium foundries, die casting companies, and sustainability-focused organizations seeking greener and more efficient metal production methods.

Norican Group has signed its commitment letter to the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)[9] – making the group the first among its peers to do so. Additionally, Norican Group being a home to ItalPresseGauss, StrikoWestofen, DISA, Simpson, and Wheelabrator, Monitizer® DISCOVER IIoT solution[10], supplied and supported by DISA, a global moulding equipment provider was able to immensely decrease downtime and energy consumption for Draxton's Foundry[11] in Barcelona.
