MONITORAPP Co., Ltd. (Korean name: 모니터랩) is a KOSDAQ-listed corporation.[1] headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, specializing in application security technology. MONITORAPP delivers security solutions through physical appliances and virtual appliances, which can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud. AIONCLOUD, an independent brand of MONITORAPP, provides cloud-based Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS) such as WAAP, SWG, CASB, ZNTA, etc. by utilizing edge computing called Security Service Edge (SSE).[2][3]
Establishment[edit]
MONITORAPP was founded by Kwanghoo Lee[4] in 2005 and is located in the Guro Digital Complex area in Seoul, South Korea. The company has been a member of the Korea Association of Cloud Industry since 2012[5] and a member of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) since 2014[6]. After establishing two overseas branches in Japan (2016) and America (2019), MONITORAPP announced a global partnership with OGX Networks in Malaysia in 2021[7] and signed an MOU for a strategic partnership with AhnLab in 2022[8].
Technology[edit]
In 2007, the company obtained a patent for the ‘Web Service Secure System and Method based on Profiling’[9], one of a total of 31 patents it has received[10]. AIWAF-VE, a virtual edition adapted from the product AIWAF (Application Insight Web Application Firewall), has been listed on AWS Marketplace and Microsoft Azure since 2021[11]. AICC, a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) platform of MONITORAPP, was synchronized into the global threat analysis service VirusTotal’s big data in 2021[12]
