Montenegrins living in Italy (Italian: Montenegrini in Italia) are supported and represented by various associations.[2] In 2010, persons with Montenegrin citizenship in Italy numbered 4,588.[1] Most Montenegrins arrived as refugees during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s.

Venetian Republic[edit]

The first Montenegrins that were mentioned in Italy was in 15th century by Marina Sanuda, the official historian of the Venetian Republic.[3]
