Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is a 2021 American direct-to-video adult animated martial arts film based on the Mortal Kombat franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, with Boon serving as a creative consultant on the film. South Korean studio Mir animated the film and was produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The film serves as a sequel to 2020's Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge, with the film centering on Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade as they attempt to stop Shao Kahn from invading Earthrealm. The film is expected to be released August 31, 2021.[1][2]
Plot[edit]
After the events of Scorpion’s Revenge, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade are surrounded by the evil forces of Shao Kahn. Raiden and his warriors are forced to compete in a final Mortal Kombat to determine the fate of the Realms. This time the fight takes them to Outworld as they must defend Earthrealm. Scorpion must also find the ancient Kamidogu before it can be used to resurrect the One Being, which would led to the destruction of all things in the universe.
