Mozelle Martin (adoptee). Mozelle Martin is a 36-year Handwriting Expert, international law enforcement trainer and consultant, and retired Mental Health Professional.

Career[edit]

Mozelle Martin's first handwriting analysis (forensic graphology) lesson occurred on her 11th birthday when her a military friend of her fathers, the founder of a home-based graphology school in the San Francisco area, instructed her. Along with additional graphological education by John (Jack) Harris and Frank Hicks, Mozelle's journey further commenced during her formative high school years, prior to her military service. At this critical juncture, she found herself standing at a crossroads with three enticing paths before her—forensic psychology, criminology, and graphology. In a bold defiance of convention, she chose not to limit herself to one, embracing all her passions. This audacious decision set her on a distinctive trajectory, where each facet enriched the other. It was during these 1970s high school years that, in a playful moment, she casually mentioned the term "forensology" to her father, unknowingly birthing the term. Despite being a teenager at the time, this term stayed with her and, in 1987, became the name of her business.

Mozelle embarked on her educational journey in 1998, a journey that extended over an impressive span of 14 years. Her studies led her to institutions such as Austin Community College, Texas State University, Purdue, Kaplan, University of the Rockies, and Provident University. At each juncture, her enthusiasm for learning expanded, allowing her cumulative expertise to flourish. Despite this rich journey, her pursuit of education remains ongoing.

In 2023, Mozelle took a proactive step by applying and being accepted into Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. Her motivation for this decision stems from deeply personal experiences of which she suffered from cyber-defamation and online character assassination, mainly on YouTube at the hands of those who misunderstood her career choices and those who disliked her professional opinions. Despite approaching the age of 60, an age when many contemplate retirement, Mozelle is dedicated to addressing online ethical challenges in our society. As she contemplates this and other options for her legal knowledge, it is a clear demonstration of her continued commitment to advocacy. Forming the Digital Integrity Coalition, she eagerly seeks collaboration with organizations that share her values as they hope to contribute to legislative reform, with a specific focus on Section 230. Her underlying goal is to champion ethics and justice online is specifically in the context of Constitutional Law and human rights.

Beyond her related field experience, educational endeavors, and experience as a court-qualified expert witness, law enforcement consultant, and trainer, she has provided expert commentary on various television, radio, and print media outlets, including affiliates of major networks like ABC, NBC, and CBS, as well as TruTV, Crime Watch Daily, and Court TV. Furthermore, she contributed as a writer's consultant to the television show Criminal Minds. Since 2007, she has been actively serving as a forensic handwriting consultant, initially with the Find Me Group, the Cold Case Foundation, and the Cold Case Coalition. Recently, she has received a nomination from the highly regarded CSI Sheryl "Mac" McCollum and has been invited to join the National BTK Taskforce, where she collaborates with other distinguished experts, including Former Prosecutor and Media Personality Nancy Grace, Profiler Dr. Ann Burgess, Statement Analyst Peter Hyatt, and Death Investigator Joseph Scott Morgan. She has been on the investigative team for cases such as Isabel Celis, Mark Redwine, Nikki LaDue January, Ricky Dyer, and more. She has completed casework for agencies including Missing & Exploited Children, Lost Child Network, 4theKids, Streetcats International, among others. Over the years, she has been an active member of 16 associations, including the Society of Medicolegal Death Investigators (SOMDI), the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts (IABPA), the International Association for Identification (IAI), American Society of Criminology (ASC), Texas Association for Identification (TDIAI), Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators (TAHN), the California Association of Criminalists (CAC), Coalition of Handwriting Analysts International (CHAI), the British Institute of Graphologists, and several more.

Mozelle Martin's Ted Talk presentation is called "Our Write to Empathy" in which she discusses the idea of reintegrating proper handwriting curriculum back into schools to help end school violence such as school shootings. Research psychologist Erin Mitchell researched the Clinical Graphology program and brain scans to show the connection between the act of handwriting and the forming of empathy in youth.
