Muaz Kalaycı (born 27 April 1986, Hatay, Turkey), is a Turkish journalist and writer.[1]
Life[edit]
Kalaycı was born on 27 April 1986 in Antakya, Hatay. He completed his primary education at Düziçi Cumhuriyet Primary School and his secondary and high school education at ÇEAŞ Anatolian High School. Having completed his university education at York University in the field of business administration,[2] Kalaycı first started his career in radio broadcasting and then continued to journalism.[3]
Career[edit]
Kalaycı started his professional career at the age of 15 in Radio 80. He then made programs on Radio Akdeniz and Radio Yakamoz until 2004. Kalaycı, who took a break from radio broadcasting in 2004, presented main news bulletins on a local television channel.[2] In 2005, he founded Haber Aktüel and is still the editor-in-chief of the company.[4]
Kalaycı has written two books: "Hasbihâl" and "Güneş Doğmadan Önce".[5][6][7]
In 2009, the words spoken by Kalaycı during a TV program were shown to participants at the rallies organized by the AK Parti executives.[8]
In 2012, he received the award for "The Best Internet Journalism of the Year" through an online survey conducted by Düzce's local newspaper Parantez.[9]
He began hosting a program called "Bana Söyle" in 2021, which is the first interview themed program in Turkey.[10][11]
