Muddy May is the 11th day of May celebrated in Poland. It is widely known in smaller villages and towns around the Masovian Voivodeship. Muddy May's exact origin is unknown; however, its first occurrences were observed around the 19th century. Although the name does not suggest it, it is celebrated by serving cold Watermelons in celebration of the coming Summer.
