Muhammad Aanish Ayaz Farrukh (Urdu: محمد عانش ایاز فرخ; born on September 7, 2002) is the Youngest Pakistani Novelist in the romantic, mystery, young-adult and fantasy genres. Apart from this, he is a motivational speaker and a short film director too. He gained popularity after writing his first novel, Scar the Novel, in 2017 and the novel received a tremendous response.
After the success of his first novel, on January 6, 2018, Aanish released another book in collaboration with his friend, Rania Khan. In 2017, Aanish received several awards for the success of his very first novel.
Early life and education
Muhammad Aanish Ayaz Farrukh was born on September 7, 2002, in Lahore, Pakistan. He lives with his parents and two siblings. His dad, born and brought up in Lahore, is a director of Sharif Medical and Dental College. With a well-educated, established and rich family background, Aanish received primary education from one of the most prestigious schools of the country, Lahore Grammar school (LGS) Doctors Hospital Branch. He later shifted to LGS Junior and Middle School Fouqet branch and after graduating from there, he was transferred to LGS JT Branch where he is currently part of Cambridge international examination’s Ordinary Level program.[1]
Aanish was a writer and a debater from a very early age. He even took part in the World Scholars Cup in which he received an Honorable Medal in the Scholars Bowl, and managed to reach the Global Round Qualifier. He was in the Top 20% in challenge Arts and Science, Top 30% in challenge All Subjects and challenge Literature, and Top 40% in Challenge History. He was part of the Top Challenge Team.[2]
Writing Career
Before starting his writing career, Aanish also dreamed of becoming an Aerospace Engineer. For this, Aanish took the Robotics course in NASA.[3]
At one stage in his life, Aanish even became a Programmer and a computer expert. Moving on with this interest, he started developing apps and improved their security system. For this, he received an award for the ‘Best Security on a Low Logistics App’. Moreover, he created 11 computer viruses, 2 messaging apps, 3 Android games, and 6 published websites.[4] In addition to this, he was asked to be the Head of Security of Justajo] (an NGO). However, Aanish soon realized that this was not what he wanted to pursue in his life and did not continue this work.
Aanish started writing at the age of 9, but he never took his talent seriously. Due to pressure from his relatives and friends of having an underachieved life, Aanish decided to do something notable to prove all those people wrong who believed that he could never be successful. He, along with his friends, decided to make a movie. He himself was the director and acted in it too. This movie, ModPro Hackers was released in January 2017. ModPro Hacker is a movie about 3 hackers who go against a world-class illegal hacker to save the world. This movie is even available on the IMDb.[5] However, ModPro Hacker was not as successful as Aanish wanted it to be and this ended all his hopes of being in the film industry.
With all hope lost, in 2017 at the age of 15, Aanish was going through his old stuff to relive memories. There, in the storeroom of his house, he found something that changed his life completely. He found the books he had written at the age of 11. After re-reading them, he realized how good they were and at that moment, he decided what he wanted to be in his life – a writer.[6]
Aanish had always been a writer, but he had no plans to be a writer until the age of 15. What pushed him to make the final decision to write ‘Scar, The Novel’ was breaking up with one of his best friends. Losing his best friend left him broken and devastated. Along with this, he had several other problems going on in his life too. With nothing but suicidal thoughts in his mind, Aanish gave up on his life. Fortunately, his childhood friend helped him get through this difficult time. This is when Aanish decided to write Scar, The Novel. Fate intervened again when this childhood friend died on 22nd September 2017. This was a huge blow to Aanish. Despite this, he continued with the writing because that is what his friend (late) wanted. After seven months of pure dedication and hard work, he was finally done with it. ‘Scar, the novel’ revolves around most of the events that took place in Aanish’s life and is somehow a true story to a large extent.
So far, this young writer has published two books. Aanish claims to have written four more novels and plans to publish them in the near future when the time is right. His third novel, Mahanos, is coming out in August 2018.[7]
Scar, The Novel (2017)
Scar is about a freshman, Oscar Longford, who faces intense bullying in his school. The basketball team captain and a senior, Zachary, warns everyone that if anyone tries to befriend Oscar, he would beat them badly. This results in Oscar spending his school life all alone and depressed. The ones who used to be his friends insult him and left him broken and devastated. After multiple suicide attempts, he ends up in a hospital where no one comes to visit him. He is different from most of the children at his school and that is why he always faced discrimination. He gives life many chances but he is later convinced that it is useless, so he decides to kill himself. While mustering up the courage to say his last goodbye to the world, on the bridge, he is interrupted by a girl, Hannah Mason, who later helps Oscar to revive his happy life and to revive his smile.
Aanish earned great fame after writing this novel. Scar sold thousands of copies worldwide and received several awards too. An Urdu writer was so impressed by the story-line of Scar, the novel that he asked for Aanish’s approval to translate the novel into Urdu.

Live, The Novel (2018)
After the success of his first novel, Aanish did not stop. He published another book on 31st December 2017. This book, Live, is a compilation of the writings of his friend, Rania Khan, and his own. A few stories have been written and taken from real-life examples. The main purpose of this novel is to tell every troubled teenager who has problems, who cannot do something with full commitment or thinks that suicide or simply vacating life is the answer to the snags life throws at them, that there is and will always be a purpose to live, we just need to find it.
3,000+ copies of Live have been sold worldwide.[8]
Mahanos: War with The Witch (2018)

Mahanos released on 8th August 2018 and has undoubtedly stormed the charts. Gaining nearly 85,000+ readers after the release of Mahanos, he became one of the most notable authors of Pakistan.
Spaceman
Aanish always loved and enjoyed listening to music and in November of 2017, he started composing his own music. Being inspired by David Bowie, he chose 'Spaceman' as his artist name. His first 2 compositions are set to be released on the 29th of September 2018 on Spotify and 21 other online music providers/streamers.[9]
ModPro Hackers (2017)
The whole world is under a Cyber Attack by a terrorist. A group of 3 teenage computer freaks decided to stand against him, starting a movement against cyber criminals until one night when the terrorists entirely shut down the USA and the UK which left no means of communications or services. The 3 hackers founded an organization named ModPro Hackers. Many cyber organizations got together to fight the terrorists but after a year of Cyber War, ModPro Hackers only remained to fight for Justice and restoring peace in the World.
The film was entirely made by an indie crew and cast hence was unable to gain much profit. The story line for the movie however was unexpectedly brilliant therefore Aanish decided to write a separate novel with the same story in the fore coming future[10]

Personal life
Muhammad Aanish Ayaz Farrukh lives with his parents and two siblings in Lahore, Pakistan. He has a social life with many friends now. He likes to play acoustic guitar and has an interest in photography too. He is an actor, and he also likes to play tennis. His favorite subject at school is Computer Science. Aanish takes a lot of interest in helping the lower class of the society and donates quite often. Also, he is against the capitalist system in the society and wants equal treatment for all. He will soon be speaking in numerous TEDx events in Pakistan.
Moreover, Aanish has been asked to appear on many news channels. Also, he has been interviewed quite a number of times by reputable newspapers and magazines including ‘The Nation’ and 'Smash' in Pakistan.
He started a Literature centered company namely, The Protesting Orator, which publishes Literature enthusiasts worldwide with an official ISBN for free, on multiple platforms including: Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Lulu.Inc.[11]
In the future, he plans to study Aerospace Engineering and later get a Doctoral Degree in Astrophysics. He also expressed his great interest and passion in becoming an astronaut or a space scientist: "Yes, becoming an astronaut or a space scientist is one of my biggest dreams too, and I hope to achieve them in the near future as well...NASA and SpaceX are currently my favorites to join when the time comes."
