Muhammad ibn Saʿdān al-Ḍarīr[edit]

Abu Ja'far Muhammad Ibn Sa'dan Al-Kufi Al-Dareer, (161 - 231 Hijri, 778 - 846 CE) a notable grammarian and a Quran Reciter from Kufa, One of the esteemed scholars hailing from the renowned fourth schools of Kufa, specializing in grammar.

His Life[edit]

Ibn Sa'dan was born in Kufa year 161, he spent his formative years and early adulthood in the vibrant intellectual atmosphere of his hometown. Immersed in the teachings of the Kufan grammarians, he swiftly rose to prominence as one of its foremost scholars in the field. His teacher was Hisham Ibn Muawiya Al-Dareer, who also mentored another notable student named Ibn Al-Marzaban. Alongside his myriad knowledge of grammar, he learned the Qiraat of The Quran. He also extensively studied and compared the nuances between the Qiraat of Makkah and Al-Madinah. Moreover, he recited the Quran through the Qiraat of Khalaf an Hamza. Ibn Sa'dan died on Eid Al Adha year 231 Hijri during the Caliphate of Al-Wathiq Ibn Al-Mu'tasim.
