This station was launched as a satellite television station on November 18, 2013 by Muhammadiyah, coinciding with Muhammadiyah's 101st anniversary.[1][2][3]tvMu was born by the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership for the 2010-2015 period, as a mandate of the 1995 Muhammadiyah Congress in Banda Aceh.[4] Based on the spirit of preaching and preaching to uphold amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, tvMu is "Muhammadiyah's offering to the nation and the world through the television screen as an intelligent and enlightening communication medium".[5]

History

Muhammadiyah TV is a Private Broadcasting Institution that Provides Television Broadcasting, which takes on the role of a medium for information, education, preaching and social control, which is expected to be able to inspire, reference and motivate the public, in order to improve the dignity, honor and quality of life. As a medium for preaching in a broad context, tvMu will take an active role in efforts to improve the quality of life of the nation and humanity universally, through quality broadcast content, which is intelligent, enlightening, and forms a character with noble character.

According PP Muhammadiyah's leader Din Syamsuddin, tvMu with the motto "Smart Enlightening" is in accordance with the character of the Muhammadiyah movement as an enlightening da'wah movement and also participates in enlightening the life of the nation as mandated by the constitution.[6] This television station focuses on providing various programs based on da'wah and culture that can be accessed not only by Muslims in Indonesia but also by Muslims in the surrounding ASEAN areas.[7]

tvMu can be accessed by those who have a parabolic antenna on the Palapa-D satellite frequency 3833, vertical polarity, symbol rate 2500 (starting November 30, 2018) and also through Useetv.
