Mum Bhai is an ZEE5 Original & ALTBalaji Indian language web series directed by Akshay Choubey and produced by Shobha Kapoor & Ekta Kapoor. The show stars Angad Bedi, Sikander Kher, Sandeep Dhar, Madhurima Roy, Samar Dharmadhikari & Vishwas Kini. The web series released on 12 November 2020 on the OTT platform ZEE5 & ALTBalaji. The story is about a Maverick cop who emerged as a top encounter specialist in Mumbai, and his passion to rule the city on his terms. [1][2][3] [4][5]

Plot

The story revolves around Bhaskar Shetty played by Angad Bedi who runs away from Mangalore where he faced economic hardship and caste differences. He reaches Mumbai and meets Rama Sikander Kher who gets him a job and becomes his guardian. Bhaskar grows up to become a maverick cop and joins the ATS with an aim to ‘clean up’ Mumbai. He rises through the ranks quickly and becomes a top encounter specialist. Meanwhile, Rama who is a local don continues with his underworld activities putting him in a position of conflict with Bhaskar. Even though Bhaskar and Rama truly share a very strong bond, the strength of their friendship is tested. Jealousy is also stirring in Bhaskar’s police colleagues who try to bring him down at any given chance. [6][7]

Critical Reception

Udita Jhunjhunwala from ‘’Firstpost’’ stated “Angad Bedi's crime series is an amalgamation of every Indian gangster movie ever”[11]. Archika Khurana from ‘’Times Of India’’ wrote as a part of her review ‘’ With perfect expressions, Angad steals the show as Bhaskar. His transformation from a teenager hailing from a small village in Mangalore, who ends up on the streets of Mumbai and eventually becomes an ATS officer, is seamless”[12].
