Naveen Kumar (born 1969) is an Indian politician currently serving as the Head of Media & Spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi. Naveen Kumar, a well-known journalist for almost three decades, where he worked as managing editor with a number of national news channels and national dailies, got into active politics as a full-time work in the year 2016 when he was appointed as spokesperson for BJP, Delhi. Naveen Kumar is known for launching India’s premier crime shows in news channels like Crime Files and “Crime Reporter.” Naveen Kumar joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS, a Hindu voluntary organization during his school days as he was impressed by the ideology and its visions, and thereon became an active working member of BJP.
Early life and family
Naveen Kumar, son of Late. Shri Prakash Anand, married to Meena Gupta, with two siblings, Shivam Gupta and Khushi Gupta, was born to an orthodox Indian Hindu family. He grew up in a joint family system, wherein Indian values and ethics are heavily instilled in childhood itself. After completion of his schooling and higher education, he chose journalism as his career and started pursuing it.
In the mid '80s he got impressed with the nationalist ideology of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and there on a long association with the organization as an activist to cadre member started; his interest and active participation with the work force of RSS and got noted as he held a few responsible cadre roles.
In 1984, he was Secretary of BJYM Laxmi Nagar Mandal, East Delhi.
In 2001, he was an Executive member of BJYM Delhi.
In 2004, he was a National Executive member of BJYM.
In 2007, he was a National Convener of Anti-Terrorist Cell, BJYM.
In 2003, he was also given a ticket to contest as an Assembly Candidate for BJP Delhi (East).
A nationalist and a dedicated BJP Activist spanning over two decades in the party’s working committee, Naveen’s faith in the party’s ideology is not only strong but he truly believes and promotes the same in whatever capacity he is trusted upon. Currently tasking the role as Head of Media for BJP, Delhi.
