Andrew Freund Jr. (October 14, 2013 — April 15, 2019) was an American five-year-old boy from Crystal Lake, Illinois, who was murdered in April 2019.

Freund Jr. was forced by his parents to remain in a cold shower for an extended period of time on April 15, 2019. The boy's parents, Andrew Freund Sr. and JoAnn Cunningham, then severely beat Freund Jr. while he was still in the shower. Freund Sr. and Cunningham woke up during the night and discovered Freund Jr. was not breathing. Realizing that the boy was dead, Freund Sr. placed Freund Jr.'s body in a large plastic tote in the basement of their home. Two days later, Freund Sr. drove to a rural area outside of Woodstock, Illinois where he buried the remains in a shallow grave.

Freund Jr.'s murder was covered extensively by news media throughout the United States and internationally.[citation needed]
