Murli Manohar Shrivastava is a journalist, an author and a Research scholar. He is best known by his pen. His magical pen has produced many books, folk songs, Gazals and journals.                                                                                                                                                             Although he has written many books, folk songs, Gazals and journals but his two books has rocked in India which are as follow:  

1 Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan (Hindi Edition) .2 Veer Kunwar Singh Ki Premkatha (Hindi Edition) On 15 Nov 2009 his book Shahnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan (Hindi Edition) was released by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, film director Prakash Jha, Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker Harivansh Narayan Singh, M.P Jagdanand Singh and Ali Anwar. Veer Kunwar Singh Ki Premkatha (Hindi Edition) is a screenplay written by Srivastava. The story is so interesting that many Bollywood film directors are curious enough to make a film based on his work. He has a collection of 1500 songs based on folk traditions and cultures. He has composed around 1000 new Gazals. A dozen of Bhojpuri songs have been written by him which is most commendable initiatives.

Documentary for Doordarshan by Srivastava

He has written more than half a dozen documentaries for Doordarshan. After writing a book on Bismillah Khan , he wrote a documentary "Safar-e-Bismillah" for which celebrities like Famous singer Kailash Kher, Famous Actor Sudha Chandran and Neetu Chandra supported him. After this, the famous mathematician Vashishtha Narayan Singh and the big center of the Sufi style, Bihar will soon be ready for the "Sufiyana" documentary by him.

Early life and education

                                                                                                                                 He was born on 28 October 1974 at the village Dumraon, Buxar, Bihar, India. His father Dr Shashi Bhusan Srivastava is a retired officer from Indian railway and his mother smt. Maya Srivastava is house-wife. He has eight brothers and sisters including him. He did his primary schooling from Maharani Usha Rani Balika vidyalay Dumraon, Buxar, where he used to go with his two sisters. He did middle schooling from Mahajani Madhya vidyalaya Dumeraon. He did his matriculation from Raj high school, Dumraon. He did his intermediate from D.K College Dumraon. He has graduated in B.sc physics honours from D.K College Dumraon and post graduated in public administration from Maharaja College Arrah, Bihar. He has also acquired diploma in journalism and Mass Communication from Chennai. He completed his MJMC from Nalanda Open University, Patna. Currently he is a research scholar at Veer Kunwar Singh University, Arrah,  Bihar, India. His research topic is Analysis of corruption in 21st century Indian Administration.

Personal life and family

                                                                                                                                           He married to Nitu Sinha on February 18, 2012. Nitu Sinha is a lovely daughter of  Surendra Prasad Sinha, a dweller of Dehri on- San, Rohtas. He has a daughter named Kavya Manohar. Kavya Manohar is the first girl child of Murli Manohar Srivastava and Nitu Sinha.

Career

                                                                                                                                                                       He started his initial career as a journalist with Naseman newspaper, News Flame from Uttar Pradesh. Then he worked with various news papers like Aryavarta, Prabhat khabar, Hindustan, Dainik Jagran etc. later on he joined Mahua channel.After that Prakash Jha brought him to channel, Maurya TV and after then the channel's career continued.                                                                                                                   

Awards

                                                                                                                                                                      He has been awarded with many prizes since his schooling on the various occasions. In Mithila painting, he secured his first place in the whole state in the year 1996. He became the best anchor of the stage show. He acted in the drama in 2003, in the Bharat Rang Mahotsav, Delhi based on Bhikhari Thakurs Bidesiya in which he acted was selected as the best play amongst 86 plays. This achievement sounded loud and he got mass appreciation.

He always remembers the lines of Robert Frost "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep". These lines gives him vigor and vitality to work till death continuously. he always struggles day and night having taking a little rest.

Munshi Premchand is his ideal author. He has been reading his novels and stories since childhood and trying to be like him. Like Munshi Premchand, Srivastava pen also runs towards realism. His pen sketches the poor, exploited and middle class.

What Founded by Srivastava

Murli Manohar Srivastava is a founding man. He has founded Theinkk.com e-news portal and a trust named Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan Trust.

Way forward

                                                                                                                                                  since 2013, he is curious enough to open Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan University in Dumraon, Buxar. In 2016, the minister of the government Madan Mohan Jha wrote for the allotment of land but the result of government work or procedure, there is no answer till date. The government does not provide the land, but anyhow he will make this   university functional. This is his strong desire. He has visited around the country and studied deeply over kinners. Very soon, a book will be published on kinners by Murli Manohar Srivastava.  

Why Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan University

Eerier, All the people abstained themselves working over Bismillah khan. The people of Dumraon used to say that Bismillah khan never called Dumraon as his home. At that time his father Dr Shashi Bhushan Srivastava called Bismillah khan to a movie "Baje Shehnai Hamar Angana” in 1979. He stayed in his house for 15 days, showed a lot of love for people of Dumraon, and when Srivastava understood, he decided to write a book on him. Almost every 10 days while working on it. He used to go to Varanasi and stayed with him, and was watching his every activity. He was so inspired that he decided, after writing a book on the name of this saint of music, he will open the university on Bismillah khan. So he told him to open Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan University in Dumraon. Having hearing this, Bismillah khan got emotional and tears came out to his eyes, and he asked Srivastava, from where will you bring money .Bismillah will complete everything, replied Srivastava.Unfortunately, even during his lifetime, the book was not published. After his death, he went to Varanasi and offers this book to his Majar(graveyard). His book was launched in 2009 and released by Nitish kumar. He announced in 2013 to open a university in Dumraon, he requested for the allotment of land, then the minister Madan Mohan Jha issued the letter to government for the allotment of land but due to complex official procedure, govt has not replied the letter even today.Srivastava says that such a Muslim will not be found in the country, which was the example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Bhojpuri's greatest well wisher or say Bhojpuri's largest conductor who played on Bhojpuri and Mirzapuri Kajree made the whole world a clarinet.
Today, when people do politics in his name, it hurts murli Srivastava.

He passed his 24 years researching over Bismillah khan. How 24 years passed, he never felt. But he still remembers all the facts related to Ustad. Today, his book is considered as the most standard book on Ustad.

Criticism

                                                                                                                                                                                     when he was working on his book Shahnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah Khan, he was badly criticized by many people. When he desired to open Shehnai Vadak Ustad Bismillah University in Dumraon, some people mocked at him and said, from where money will come for this university. Even you have no money to eat three times a day, you are thinking over a university. A mockery over this university is still going on. But he will shut the mouth of people having this university in function someday.But he is curious enough to open this university even by begging.He is ready to face all storms for opening this university.
