Murran Cali Chenoa Kain is an Australian actress known for her roles in Ticket to Paradise, Beacon (2021) and Nightingale Lonely Melodies.
Early Life
Murran Kain was born in Brisbane, Queensland, to Derek Kain, a painter and business owner, and Catherine Kain, a teacher and principal. She is an only child who grew up on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The family grew up on acreage in the Gold Coast hinterland.
She enrolled in performing arts school at age 4, where she attended musical theatre and dance classes. In high school, Kain studied drama and music at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School. She was the lead in a variety of high school musical productions and graduated in 2019.[1]
After graduation, she was cast in multiple films and began her professional acting career.
Career
Murran began her professional acting career at a young age, featuring in commercials, musicals and as an extra in multiple films.
In her senior year, she was cast as the titular character, Nightingale, in Nightingale Lonely Melodies. She was then cast in Beacon as the lead character Goose, where she won best female lead in the Sick Chicks Flicks Film Festival in the USA [2]. She was also nominated for best lead actress and previewed at Flickerfest and in Brisbane as part of Best Australian Shorts 2022. [3] She was then cast in Ticket to Paradise in 2021 [4], where she has been featured in The Hollywood Reporter.
She has performed as a backing singer to band Thirsty Merc in 2019 and 2021[5]
She has performed and trained in New York City, where she sang at the United Nations in 2017.
