Mushir Anwar

Mushir Anwar (1937 – 30 December 2015) was a Pakistani novelist and journalist.

Born in Moradadbad, British India, Anwar lived most of his life in Rawalpindi. He received a Master’s degree in English literature from Gordon College in Rawalpindi in 1966.[1] Professionally he worked for the Pakistan Times, and also served as the chief publications officer in the Economic Affairs Division of Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance.[2]
Anwar’s first novel was published posthumously in 2023, edited by Peter Coughlin. A Piece of the Moon follows a tale of tragic resilience by a South Asian Muslim family in the face of history, politics, and social upheavals.[3][4]
