Imran Yaqub Khan (Urdu: عمران یعقوب خان‎) is a Journalist, Analyst, Writer, Broadcaster and Social Activist from Pakistan.[1][2]He was the founding Director News of Pakistani leading news channels Dunya News and 92 News HD Plus.[3][4][5] Most popular pakistani tv show Aik Din Geo Ke Saath also produced and directed by Imran Yaqub Khan.[6] As a feature writer for Daily Jang Lahore, Imran Yaqub wrote many articles on different issues.[7][8] He also served as Vice President of Lahore Press Club Lahore.[9] He is currently serving in Gourmet Media Group as Advisor to CEO.[10][11]He was visiting faculty member of School of Communication Studies, Panjab University from 2011 to 2014.[12]

Early Life[edit]

Imran Yaqoob Khan was born in Lahore in 26 April 1970 and went to Government Central Model School, Lahore.[13] He graduated from Government College University in 1990, and did his masters from English Department, University of Punjab Lahore, in 1993.In 2008 he earned master's degree in Mass Communications from University of Punjab Lahore .

Imran Yaqoob Khan began his Journalistic career with Jang Group of Newspapers from 1990, while he was studying at Government College University.[14] He served in Daily Jang as reporter, feature writer, Incharge Crimes Cell and Incharge Complaints Cell till April 2002.

In April 2002 Imran Yaqoob was assigned duties in Geo Tv as Reporter, Producer, and gradually elevated to Director, Executive Producer.[15] He directed and produced many programs in Geo Tv, some of them are Aik Din Geo Ke Saath, Police, Siasi Guftugu Krna Mana Hai, Tasveer Kahani and Geo Investigates. He also conducted Special Transmission on General Elections in Pakistan.

In September 2008 he joined Dunya News Tv as Controller News.[16] He was promoted as Director News and Director Current Affairs and Oprations .In July 2011 he joined Newsweek Pakistan, and served as Director News Dais TV till May 2014.[17]

Imran Yaqoob Khan Joined Value TV in May 2014 as Director News and hosted a program Sawal pe Sawal, but he moved to 92 News HD Plus in July.[18] He served in 92 News till November 2015 as Director News.[19]

In December 2015 he joined Gourmet Group’s media project as Director News. The Gourmet Group is running Jaag TV and plans to launch some publications too. Imran Yaqoob Khan is currently serving in Gourmet Group as Advisor to CEO.
