Muskoka Plunge is a brand new ride for 2017, and it is a 60 foot (18 meter) tall water slide complex in the Splash Works section of Canada's Wonderland, in Vaughan Ontario. The complex is made up of 4 slides, all of which have a floor which drops beneath you to start your ride. The ride uses the "DrenalineDrop" system, making Muskoka Plunge the first water slide of its kind in Canada.[1]

History[edit]

Muskoka Plunge was added to Canada's Wonderland in 2017, as one half of the parks expansion that year. (The other half of the expansion was the thrill ride Soaring Timbers[2]) Muskoka Plunge replaced the 24 year old water slide Body Blast, which was one of the original water slides at Splash Works.[3]

Ride Experience[edit]

Muskoka Plunge begins 60 feet (18 meters) off the ground and sends riders to the bottom 300 feet (91 meters) through s-curves and 360° loops at speeds up to 25 mph. (40 kph) The four capsules can let go of the riders at the same time, with 2 second intervals, or at any time period in between. Once released from the capsule, riders speed through the twists and turns of the slide until being released at the bottom. All four capsules release the riders into different paths.
