Muslim Disability Awareness (MDA) is a British & Republic of Ireland umbrella Non-Profit organisation for people with disabilities. The purpose of the organisation is to improve the lives of people with disabilities internationally.

Muslim Disability Awareness was discovered shortly after the founder and her husband became Muslim. As a immediate concern to the understanding of

Muslim Disability Awareness was originally introduced as a Bazaar, a leading faith-disability awareness fun day. The institute performs according to faith-based culture whilst operating the Care Act 2014.

International Branches[edit]
Uganda[edit]
Muslim Disability Awareness is registered in Uganda under no.128/BKLO/2020/ and headquartered in the Eastern Region of Bukhulo Sub-country Buwabuyi Village, Sironko District, Uganda.
Pakistan[edit]
Muslim Disability Awareness has partnered with and is governed by the Ahsas Disabled People Organization under the Societies Act 1860.[2] Ahsas is a broad-based organization working for people with disabilities. It is headquartered at Krakuram Highway (Shahra-e-Rasham), Village Ichhrian P/O Haji Abad District and Tehsil Mansehra under the Heat Office of AHSAS.
Death of the Founder[edit]
In January 2018, Sara (also known as Jasmin Aisha) died from sepsis. The Muslim Burial fund raised money for her funeral and burial of which the Islamic community donated towards.[3] A memorial bench was placed at a Leeds Social Services garden in Lovell Park.
The asset transferred to her husband, The O'Donovan. The current responsibility for the institute rests with the Chairman Moulana Muhammad Lockhat operating on the husband's behalf.[4]
Trivia[edit]
In 2014, Dr Muhammad Zulfikar Rakhmat shared his disability journey at the University of Northampton's Disability Awareness Week.[5] Here he raised the Muslim Disability Awareness agency at a special event on disability and religion.
