Background
Traditionally, most CPAs and other professionals in the accounting industry have had to visit large conferences and similar networking events, where they needed to attend live seminars. Each hour of seminar attended would yield them 1 credit which they would report to the state board to renew their license. Online webinars have been an alternative to these events that gained quick popularity among the audience owing to convenience and low cost. The COVID-19 pandemic forced most of the physical events to be cancelled or postponed indefinitely. This gave live online webinars widespread popularity and it would go on to become a major continuing education medium for all kinds of professionals.

myCPE was initially started keeping in mind the fulfilment of CPE requirements for CPAs and Tax Practitioners (Enrolled Agents) through online webinars. The company applied for a license from NASBA and IRS for sponsored CPE and CE provider, which they subsequently obtained by June 2019. Soon enough, they managed to bring some of the well-known speakers onto the platform who would deliver live webinars through an embedded online aggregator. At that time, myCPE adopted a strategy of listing only free webinars to every user to gain a decent userbase. At the same time, they had also initiated their 1 Credit = 1 Meal program, under which they would distribute a meal to less privileged people.
