MyOutDesk, also known as MOD or MOD Virtual,[2] is an American-owned company providing virtual assistant services, business development consulting, and productivity software. MyOutDesk is currently headquartered in Sacramento, California.[3]
History
MyOutDesk was officially founded in 2008 when brothers Daniel Ramsey and Jason Ramsey, who were real estate and construction industry veterans, hired their first virtual professional.[4]:102[self-published source][5][6]
While recovering from the global financial crisis in 2007, Daniel and Jason Ramsey hired Lily Flor, a freelancer from the Philippines, as their first virtual professional. Flor went on to become head recruiter for the company until she passed away in 2018.[4][page needed]
In 2015, Zillow partnered with MyOutDesk to pilot a call center for the program Zillow Premier Assist while it was in beta.[7]
The company grew from 30 virtual professionals in 2008 to 1,100 in 2016.[8][third-party source needed] By 2016, 95% of MyOutDesk's employees were based in the Philippines.[9][third-party source needed]
At the start of COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, MyOutDesk was featured by KTNV's Las Vegas Morning Blend and Tucson Morning Blend on the topic of effective remote working.[10][11]
MyOutDesk established its corporate headquarters in 2020 at its fourth location in Sacramento, California.[3] MyOutDesk also has overseas offices in the Philippines.[12]
MyOutDesk uses RingCentral's Contact Center and RingCentral Glip to communicate and collaborate with virtual professionals overseas.[8]
Services
MyOutDesk offers virtual assistant and outsourcing services for real estate and other industries, including healthcare, marketing, human resources, and e-commerce.[13][7][14]
MyTimeIn, a remote workplace software platform, is included in MyOutDesk's service. The product includes a remote productivity platform for remote teams with time tracking and task oversight.[4]
The company employs a stringent screening and talent-matching process for business clients to find full-time assistance for all aspects of their business[14] Virtual professionals hired by MyOutDesk are subjected to FBI-equivalent background checks and given the necessary training to achieve all of their given tasks.[13][14] Tasks that virtual professionals can perform range from email filtering to following up on leads.[7]
