Synopsis
James covers meeting Winehouse at stage school at thirteen before both of their music careers took off, with them later touring and recording together in the early 2000s.[1] James introduced Winehouse's demo to his management company, helping secure her a recording contract in 2002 with Island Records.[2] He charts witnessing Winehouse's writing of her career-defining album Back to Black as well as the ups and downs of their close friendship and her death at age 27.
