My Jolly Sailor Bold is an English folklore sea song that is generally thought to be sung by sailors and pirates. It first appeared in John Ashton's Real Sailor-Songs.[1]

The song is about a woman named Maria and her relationship with sailor named William. She is upset due to the sailor's departure and moves onto listing how she will be affected by it. The woman also notes the sailor's physical characteristics, saying he has "eyes as black as sloes" and his hair is in "ringlets". Maria, the woman, seems to say that every woman deserves a "jolly" sailor.[2][1]
