NGC 4511 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major.[6][2] It is currently classified as a type Sb(c?) galaxy.[3][8][6][1]The galaxy was first discovered in 1790 by astronomer William Herschel.[5] The compiler of the New General Catalogue, John Louis Emil Dreyer, described the galaxy as, "pretty faint, very small, irregular round, very gradually brighter middle."[9]
