NHS million
NHS million is a grassroots organisation led by frontline NHS staff. It was founded by Joseph Bluden, an NHS employee, in an effort to raise staff morale and celebrate the NHS. Since then the NHS million Twitter account has grown to 650,000 followers, making it the largest NHS account on Twitter. NHS million has raised thousands of pounds for various causes and has run a number of successful campaigns.
Campaigns
Since its inception, NHS million has run a number of highly successful campaigns.
In 2015, NHS million were the team behind the 2015 Christmas number 1 'A Bridge Over You'. This was a charity single by NHS staff including doctors, nurses and physicists which beat X-Factor winner and Justin Bieber for the number 1 spot.
In 2018, NHS million formed NHS Voices and recorded the charity single A Little Help From My Friends alongside more than 30 recording artists including Seal, Beverley Knight, and Guy Garvey.
Each year the team run their annual Merry Xmas NHS campaign. More than 300 celebrities have supported the campaign including: Gary Lineker, Ant and Dec, Dawn French, Gok Wan, Amanda Holden, Olly Murs, Louis Theroux, Dynamo, Boy George, Simon Pegg, Alan Carr, Bill Bailey, Emilia Clarke, Clare Balding, Gabby Logan, Holly Willoughby, Philip Schofield, Scarlett Moffat, Perrie Edwards, Sir Cliff Richard and many, many more!
The group has also fundraised over £350,000 for health-related charities.
