The primary focus of NIPL would be internationalization of RuPay and UPI, along with a few more offerings of NPCI. NPCI has appointed Ritesh Shukla as chief executive officer (CEO) of NIPL. In this new role, Ritesh's primary responsibilities would involve formulation of business strategy, leading business development and driving profitability by deploying NPCI's pre-existing technology and solutions in international markets. NIPL is building huge acceptance network for RuPay and UPI which will help Indian travelers pay with these payment channels in destination country of travel. With the evolution and growth of NIPL network, any Indian travelling to any country across the globe will be able to use our products. NIPL is focused on transforming payments across the globe with use of technology and innovation. It will not only enable payment for Indians but also uplift other countries by enhancing their payment capabilities through technological assistance, consulting and infrastructure. These countries have potentials but lack in resources i.e. financial, technological etc. NIPL is ready to fill this gap with its rich experience and advance understanding of payments.[9][10]
Acceptance[edit]
Myanmar (Burma)[edit]
NPCI International (NIPL) submits a bid to the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) for building the country's proposed real-time Retail Payments System, as well as a QR Code Generation and Repository System. A successful bid will provide a massive boost to NPCI's ambitions to take its Unified Payment Interface (UPI) international. It will also be the first big win for a Made in India technology platform designed in India and owned by an Indian company.[11][12]
