nTopology is an engineering design software developed by nTopology Inc. that offers tools primarily aimed at aiding the design and optimization of products for additive manufacturing. nTopology Inc. was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in New York City.[1]
nTopology is typically used in conjunction with other computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software during the development of highly-optimized products in the aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and consumer products industries, among others.
nTopology is built upon an implicit modeling engine. Implicit modeling offers increased speed, scalability, reliability, and control[2] when generating highly complex structures compared to the Boundary representation (B-rep) or Non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) technologies that are prevalent in solid modeling for mechanical engineering and industrial design applications.
Some of the main features of the software include a comprehensive lattice generation toolset[3] (including graph lattices and triply periodic minimal surface), topology optimization, and built-in finite element analysis tools.[4] nTopology also offers design automation and field-driven design capabilities that can be used to create generative design and multidisciplinary design optimization workflows.
